Hungry For Change: Brits To Have A Big IF Fast
British Muslims will be fasting tomorrow along with hundreds of other people around the country from all faiths to show politicians that they are hungry for change.
The free Big IFtar event will bring together many people from different walks of life who will give up food for the day to show world leaders just how much people want them to change the policies which keep millions of people hungry every day.
Fasting participants will also find out more about the ‘Enough Food For Everyone IF’ campaign and what is being planned for The Big Hyde Park Rally on 8th June, which will bring together more than 10,000 people in the biggest ever rally against world hunger in Hyde Park.
‘Enough Food for Everyone IF’ is a campaign which consists of more than 100 of the UK’s leading development charities and faith groups, making it the largest coalition of its kind in the UK since Make Poverty History in 2005.
The campaign has earned support from various Muslim personalities including spoken word poet Boonaa Muhammad, Nouman Ali Khan from the Bayyinah Institute and Shaykh Waleed Basyouni from the AlMaghrib Institute.
