Mystery Muslim Puts Up Quran Verses Around Washington
The depiction of Islam and Muslims has been fairly negative in the U.S. especially with ads that have been circulating around major cities and subway stations by controversial hate figures.
An anonymous campaigner however, wants to change perceptions with positive messages.
In a year-long project named the Quran Project 2013, the campaigner is sticking up verses of the Quran around Washington D.C. to promote peace and tolerance to the masses.
“In order to protest such acts in a positive manner I have decided that I will post verses of the Quran around different locations around different locations in Washington DC”, explains the campaigner.
The user will be sticking up notes on a regular basis, and photograph each one to be added into the blog gallery.
So far, the notes have gone up around George Washington University, on Metro trains, and in Columbia Heights.
“This is about the idea of proud Muslims trying to eliminate stigmas against Islam and to fight Islamophobia in a positive and peaceful way.”
Other people are also free to contribute to the blog. They can submit and message the campaigner with their own Quran verses and hadiths that they want to share.

I think this is both a educative and fun concept. Even I want to start putting up post-it notes around town now :D
